September Tunes

I call bullshit, but somehow it’s the end of September? As exciting as it is to bring you guys another post about my favourite music that I was listening to this month, it low-key feels like this year has been a high speed rollercoaster that I’m desperate to get off but somehow the safety bar is stuck and no-one else is on…

But yeah, here are my favourite songs from the month of September!

Havana – Camilla Cabello, Young Thug: I didn’t catch onto the Fifth Harmony trend, unlike my dad (check this post), but I am here for Camilla Cabello as a solo act 100%.This song is so funky, and I’ve found it to definitely be one of my key favourites this month, hence it’s spot at the top of this list.

Collect – Matthew Young: God did good with this one. I’m so grateful that I happened to be at work, thankful that I didn’t end up leaving early as was planned, so thankful that I turned on the radio for some Triple J, and so thankful that I shazaam-ed the heck out of this song the moment I heard the chorus. This is a good one. Listen to this song. Please.

Yo (Excuse Me Miss) – Chris Brown: Ever since writing my CB post, this song has been stuck in my head. That post went up ages ago, and I wrote the post even further ago. So it’s been a while. I finally added it to my everyday playlist and I’m still loving.

Batman – Jaden Smith: I remember watching the music video for this song at the beginning of the year and being incredibly confused. Very, very confused. But music video aside, this one is great.

Undercover – Kehlani: Ever since seeing Kehlani live last month, I’ve been listening to this song, and it’s definitely up in my Top Five Lani songs at the moment. It’s a great time.

High and Dry – Roman GianArthur: While I can’t remember how exactly I found this song, I do know that this is a tune. If you’re down for really smooth vibes, honey vocals and a sweet guitar, give this song a listen.

Beach House – Hockey Dad: Check out my post all about Hockey Dad, and you’ll get the most extra, in-depth explanation of why I love this song so much.

Guillotine – Jon Bellion: I’ve most definitely included this in a favourites of some sort before. But this month especially was a great month personally for Jon. I just binged his whole selection and I had zero regrets.

Grow – Conan Gray: The little ray of sunshine released his second single this month so it was bound to be a good one and Conan definitely delivered. Again, it was a short one, but have a squiz at my post all about Conan Gray and Grow!

Dead – Madison Beer: Madison Beer is definitely not someone I keep on my radar. At all. Until now. Unfortunate yes, but big thank you to her ex Jack Johnson (Jack and Jack, Vine rip) for revealing the true fool he was, which resulted in this actual banging tune. It’s one of my favourites.

Dusk Till Dawn – Zayn, Sia: This is such a cinematic song. I wrote a whole blog post about it because I genuinely love this song so much.

Heebiejeebies – Amine, Kehlani: Once again, we have Kehlani to thank for this. If she didn’t feature on this, I wouldn’t have listened to it, and I wouldn’t have felt compelled to listen Amine’s album, which I am now in love with. Amine was never someone I listened to, other than Caroline, and now he’s slowly becoming one of my favourite artists.

Blades – FARR: Found this song thanks to Millennium Dance Studio on YouTube, and a choreographer, Jake Kodish. I’ve credited Jake for quite a few of my music finds, just because dude picks amazing songs for his dance classes that I always end up loving and listening to on repeat.

I Like Me Better – Lauv: Lauv’s just recently made it onto the radio in Australia with this song and I’m loving hearing him so often. This is a sick summer song.

Too Much To Ask – Niall Horan: Definitely nearly dropped my phone when I saw that Horan released another song, literally days after I bought tickets for his tour next year. I also sent a Snapchat to my close friends of me shrieking after noticing the ‘EXPLICIT’ warning on Spotify. It was an amazing day.

Breathe – Pluto: This song, is without a doubt, one of the songs I will always share with someone if I’m doing that thing I often do where I send them a literal list of songs that they need to hear. This song, will always make the list.

Black Spiderman – Logic: Again, it took me a while to get around to listening to Logic, and while 1-800-237-8255 is an amazing song, this song takes the cake for me. The music video is also three times as good so have a look and a listen.

COPYCAT – Billie Eilish: Billie performed here last week, and I hear it was amazing. This song is one of my favourites from her album and I loved hearing it shatter my eardrums throughout this month.

Get Back – The Beatles: This was one of the songs I wasn’t incredibly familiar with from The Beatles. I’m glad to report that it is now my favourite. 100%

Bodam Yellow – Cardi B: I feel like this is a reoccurring trend this month, but again, I was a bit slow to listen to Bodak Yellow, but once I did, I added it to several of my playlists and all was well. We good now.

Love Like Ours – Estelle, Tarrus Riley: I love me a good bit of reggae and this is the perfect mix of reggae and RnB and hip hop to make me a very, very happy gal.

Wearing Nothing – Dagny: I can’t recall where I heard this song, but now that I know what it is, I hear it everywhere. So it makes sense that I also saved it on Spotify and added it to my popular playlists so I could listen to it literally everywhere.

So that’s it! Hope you got some good tunes from my month of September, what were you listening to?
