The latest song I’m deciding to babble about to you all, is the song Nervous, lovingly nick-named The Ooh Song, by Gavin James.
I heard the original a little while back and fell in love with it, and only a few months ago realised that not only was there an acoustic version, but a live version as well. I live for live versions. Live versions honestly capture so much more than perfect, studio recordings, where stuff like ambience and atmosphere and ad-libs are sometimes lost. So, fair to say I was absolutely buzzing when I began to listen to it.
Let me tell you.
I was not let down. All my expectations were blown out of the water when I heard this version. You honestly need to hear this for yourself, because it cannot be captured into words.
Lucky for us, there’s also an equally as ethereal version of this live performance, on Spotify, which you can listen to, here.
And then came along Mark McCabe, who took this masterpiece, and created a remix that you and your mum can truly enjoy.
McCabe transforms this song completely, but so respectfully, removing nothing from Gavin’s voice that could take away from the magic of the song.
I honestly don’t have anything to say about this song, other than it’s just incredible. This is a short post purely because I can’t actually accurately sum up this song in a way that will do it justice, I just hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did.
