I am PUMPED to be bringing you all another set of top ten favourite songs, this time, Courtesy Of the lovely Yasmin Suteja. For those of you who aren’t familiar with Yasmin (@yasminsuteja), she’s basically magic.

She’s the founder, photographer and creative director of Culture Machine Agency, a Sydney-based creative agency focused on film, fashion photography, branding and art direction, which she has also extended into a model scouting, development and talent division. Yasmin’s also the manager for her comedian younger brother, Kai (@urmumsyadad).

Hopping back and forth between Australia and Bali, Yasmin seems to always be working on something incredible, whether it’s producing short films, scouting fresh faces or directing and shooting campaigns for brands such as Glue Store. Her street style film photography has created a brand of it’s own, and it seems like Yas will only lead her army of creatives at Culture Machine to a whole spectrum of creative opportunities. It’s fun stuff.

However, we’re talking about tunes.

Yasmin was nice enough to share her top ten favourite songs of all time with me, and it’s a pretty great selection. Some insane throwbacks, head nods at great Australian artists and tunes that will get you feeling all the feelings. It’s a top list, so let’s get into it.

Groove Is In The Heart – Deee-Lite: You may not know the name, but you definitely know how to sing it. I didn’t even realise I knew this song until I listened to it again. You’re obligated to groove to this one.

Together Again – Janet Jackson: Aside from my love of Michael Jackson, I also have to extend the love to Janet. This song is probably in my top ten from Janet, which made me grin seeing it in Yasmin’s list so close to the top.

Young Hearts Run Free – Kym Mazelle: Honestly Yasmin just seems like she’s constantly boogie-ing? Much like our first song in the list, this one is a classic for anyone who appreciates some disco in their lives.

Fly – Sugar Ray: This song fits perfectly into my obsession with summer tunes. It’s also a major throwback.

Girl Talk – TLC: TLC can do no wrong. Huge grins when I spotted the group featuring in Yasmin’s favourites. Honestly timeless.

Baby Blue – King Krule: This song is perfect for winding down. Like the biggest chill you never knew you needed. It’s such a perfect song for the sun.

Nakamarra – Hiatus Kaiyote: Love seeing a Melbourne band feature on this list. Definitely my favourite song from Hiatus Kaiyote, and if you’ve never heard of the band, I 100% recommend checking them out. Insane stuff.

Get You – Daniel Caesar, Kali Uchis: Not only did I feature this song on my July Tunes and my August Tunes, but I also dedicated a whole post to Kali Uchis, so we understand how I feel about this song. It definitely deserves a spot on this list.

Passionfruit – Drake: With Drake finishing up shows in Australia a little while back, this is great timing. I live for the first minute of this song. I also featured this song in one of my first posts, back in my May Tunes. Definitely one of my favourites from Drake, and obviously Yasmin agrees.

Boredom – Tyler, The Creator, Rex Orange County, Anna Of The North: I never seek out anything Tyler, but whenever I’m presented it, I’m never disappointed and this is no different. 10/10. Would definitely recommend. Great pick on Yasmin’s behalf.

So that’s it! A huge thank you to Yasmin for sharing her top ten favourite songs of all time with me. I had a lil groove myself, so I’m certain you will too. While I love sharing new music I’m finding and loving myself, I love the opportunity to share music that other people enjoy just as much. So a massive thanks to Yasmin again, hopefully you enjoyed some of her picks just as much as I did!
