So hopefully if you’ve caught on, you’d know my adoration for the magician that is Will Heard. Not only have I featured him in a couple of my playlists, but I’ve also dedicated a whole blog post to the dude – so you can understand how flipped out I am to be bringing you Will Heard’s top ten favourite songs at the moment.

I’ve been obsessed with Will for a couple of years now, so it was only natural that he was one of the first artists I reached out to when looking for some tunes to feature on my blog. What wasn’t expected at all, was that he was one of the first people to reply! I was with my best friend, and I definitely had a little freak out on the way to the train station that he’d actually taken the time to reply. If you’ve not heard of Will, definitely check out my post (which I’ve linked above), because honestly, you’re missing out.

With that said, let’s get into his favourites.

Have You Ever Been (To Electric Ladyland) – Nai Palm: Now before we really get into it, I have to say. I honestly hadn’t heard many of the songs in Will’s list. But holy moly this song. It’s honestly become one of my favourites. Not only because of the smooth vocals, incredible harmonies and beautiful guitar, but because it just matches my mood all of the time??? Not sure how, but this song does it. The vocals though. Magical.

Nobody Does It Better – Nate Dog: Another tune with smooth as heck vocals. I feel like I’ve heard this song before, and that’s because Michael Calfan re-released this song as a summer dance song, which I featured in my most recent summer tunes playlist. Have to say, I appreciate it a lot more than the Michael Calfan version. The original is exquisite and so smooth.

Ballad of Dorothy Parker – Prince: One that I’ve definitely heard before. I can’t find a Prince song that I dislike, this one is no difference. I can definitely see how it fits into Will’s top ten.

Get It Up – The Time:  This song has all the disco, funky vibes you need and I was instantly hooked the second I heard it. Such a fun tune.

Kalimankou Denkou – Bulgarian Television and Radio Folklore Ensemble: As someone who appreciates great choral pieces, this one is a treat. Definitely close your eyes and find yourself in the middle of a cathedral type vibes. Nice one Will.

Jealousy – Slum Village: This is a funky one again. Never heard it before I wrote this, but have to say it’s a good pick. Definitely added it to a few playlists.

Kiefer, Castelluzzo – Evil Eye: Appreciation for this song. This is a great song. I found myself playing it several times after first listening to it. The fact that there aren’t lyrics makes it all the more better for me because the music is so damn good.

Garden – SZA: Surely we’ve all heard or at least heard of this song. SZA’s doing so well with her album and this is one of my favourites from the discography, evidently one of Will’s too.

Focus – H.E.R: I’ve heard of H.E.R but I never got around to actually listening to any of her music. . . major regrets. This tune got me hooked and I binged a bunch of her songs.

Half Time – Amy Winehouse: This is one of my all time favourite songs by Amy, and I was so happy to see it on Will’s list. Amy Winehouse will always be a pleaser for me, and I’m sure a lot of other people too.

That’s it! A huge thank you to Will for sharing his favourite songs with me and with you! If you haven’t already, make sure you read up about the dude on my post all about him, just so you can share in some of the Will Heard magic. Always recommend.
