Hello everyone, and welcome back to another blog post where all my creativity flies right out the window, so in an effort to keep ya’ll entertained and happy, I turn to one of favourite, yet easiest posts to write ever.

That said, on reflection of the last few of these I’ve done, quite a few of you have liked these posts, leaving lovely comments and actually listening to some of these songs, so how about we just look at it as me giving the people what they want?

Sweet.

As usual, my narcissism does take over for a few seconds, and I am obliged to tell you that all the songs below are on my Spotify account, all curated nicely for you already in a playlist called songs you should probably hear, which is linked for you so that you don’t have a decent excuse not to have a listen.

Very Specific Pt. 13

Very Specific Pt. 13

Hello everyone!

Hope you are well and doing good, welcome back to another blog post where I try and be relate-able, only somewhat succeeding.

Today’s post is another very specific post. I love making and curating these posts, you guys seem to be a fan of them, so hopefully we all get something out of this. I’m all about listening to sad songs when you’re already sad to just…enhance the sad, because surely that’s something we all do, but sometimes you don’t have time and need to pep up real quick. For example, having a small mental breakdown about a university deadline that you knew about for weeks, crying a lil bit, but realising that you don’t actually have time to cry and need to get work done.

I definitely have found myself in that situation several times this year, so I’m probably your best source for pepping yourself up through some good tunes.

So this playlist is a playlist of songs to cheer you up.

Burnin Up - Jonas BrotherHard Times - ParamoreI'll Be There For You - The RembrandtsDog Days Are Over - Florence + The MachineI Say A Little Prayer - Aretha FranklinRosanna - WeezerCordu

There you go! Hopefully you had a listen to some of those song, hopefully you felt a bit better if you weren’t already feeling great, and hopefully you’ve got some more songs to add to your artillery if you’re ever feeling down.

Songs You Don’t Know But Should Pt. 5

Songs You Don’t Know But Should Pt. 5

Hello hello and welcome to another post where I assume your day is about to be made for the incredible music I’m sharing below. If you aren’t from around these parts, if you’ve only recently joined us, then you may not be familiar with these posts.

I promise.

I don’t have a superiority complex (we think), I just love sharing music that doesn’t receive the attention it deserves. I love music so much so to the point that I’ve passed the stage of feeling protective over my secret discoveries, and am at the phase where I’m aggressively passionate about shoving all my music discoveries and finds down your throat, but you shall come to accept that in time.

For now, here’s more music that I believe you should really hear.

Wait – NoMBe
I’ll Find You – Lacrae
Baby Blue – King Krule
Anything For You – Chelsea Cutler
Senorita – Eden Prince
If Only – TEEKS
Intro (Santa Barbara) – Box Dreams
Typhoon – Mr Jukes
Black Man In A White World – Michael Kiwanuka
Tin Pan Boy – YUNGBLUD
Locket – Kilo Kish
take care – EDEN
Same Script – Ziggy Ramo
Addicted – The Night Cafe
Telepathy – Christina Aguilera
Solid Gold – Elk Road
Loved By You – Kirby
Father, Father – Jay Prince
Shelter – SACHI
Like Home – JOY.
Human Touch – Betty Who
Afterglow – Wilkinson

Let me know if you gave any of these a listen. I know that’s actually asking quite a bit, but it genuinely makes my day when one of you comments to tell me that you enjoyed a particular song or added some of my suggestions to your own playlist!

Very Specific Pt. 12

Very Specific Pt. 12

Hello friends! Hope you’re having a fantastic morning/afternoon/evening/night. Hopefully you get a lil bit more out of this post, it’s another very specific post, and this time it’s definitely a personal favourite.

One of my favourite things ever, is waking up around 9 o’clock in the morning on a day off from university, having the entire house to myself, chilling with my dog in my room for a bit before throwing on some music as I head downstairs to the kitchen. Making myself an ice coffee regardless of the weather because ice coffee > literally anything, scrambling some eggs or making a breakfast sandwich, chatting with my dog and chilling on the couch.

All the while with the perfect soundtrack in the back, a playlist of songs to dance around your kitchen to.

As is with most of these posts, I create these playlists from my own personal Spotify playlists, this one pulled from one of my favourites, kitchen, which is linked so you can definitely check out the close to 400 songs on there.

Here are some of my favourites. Prepare for the whiplash.

What You Know - Two Door Cinema ClubPartition - BeyonceWe Come Running - Youngblood HawkeThe Girl Is Mine - 99 Souls ft Destiny's ChildSay My Name - ODESZANaive - The KooksOMG - Camilla

Like I said, my kitchen playlist has just about 400 songs, and they’re just as scattered as the ones I’ve shared above, which in my opinion makes it the best playlist to listen to in the morning. It hypes me up just the right amount and I get a good boogie out of it while I’m making breakfast.

If you have a similar sort of playlist, or specific music you listen to as you begin your day, I’d love to know!

Songs You Don’t Know But Should Pt. 4

Songs You Don’t Know But Should Pt. 4

By all means friends, please, do not hesitate to tell me if you’re getting sick of these posts. I know I’m passionate about sharing my music discoveries, but I can definitely tone it down for the masses if it’s what the people want.

That said, I can’t deny that while I love these posts with all my heart, I definitely turn to them because they are one of the quickest and easiest posts to write. Simply press shuffle on my songs you should probably hear and Bob’s your uncle, playlist made.

Example number 4, as shown below.

I’m Good – Jessica Jade
Human – Svedaliza
U-RITE – THEY
Power – RAT!hammock
Runnin’ – The Pharcyde
Shangri-La – Caitlyn Scarlett
Most Beautiful Ride – Kyo-Ken
I Remember – Ady Suleiman
Ohio – John Batiste
Obsession (25/7) – Vice, Kyle, Jon Bellion
The Last Ones Standing – Tep No
Off My Feet – Pia Mia
Damselfly – Loyle Carner
Shift – Sam Bluer
Do It – Tuxedo
NXT2U – Sammy Johnson
I’m A Fantastic Wreck – Montaigne
Tadow – Masego
Marryuna – Baker Boy
White Iverson – Jackson Breit
501’s – Fortunes

Hopefully you enjoyed some of these songs! This was an especially fun post to write because of how varied the genres were, and how left of centre some of the songs are, which makes them all the better and even greater discoveries.

Very Specific Pt. 11

Very Specific Pt. 11

Hello friends, hello.

Welcome back to one of my favourite posts here on the blog, the very specific playlists, where I attempt to curate the perfect playlists for some of the niche-est moments of life.

Today’s playlist is one I’m sure a few of us sympathise with, and that’s a playlist of the perfect background music for studying. I don’t know about you, but if I attempt to study in silence, it doesn’t happen for me. That said, I can’t exactly have a playlist of my favourite songs on in the background because I either a) end up getting distracted and not studying at all or b) find myself writing down the lyrics as I hear them rather than my notes.

So, I’ve collected a couple of amazing songs to put on while studying, in a Spotify playlist called books, which I’ve linked for you here so you can have a listen to the rest of them.

However, here are some of my favourites.

What You Know - Two Door Cinema ClubPartition - BeyonceWe Come Running - Youngblood HawkeThe Girl Is Mine - 99 Souls ft Destiny's ChildSay My Name - ODESZANaive - The KooksOMG - Camilla

A bit of a shorter playlist this time, the Spotify playlist itself is quite small, which is unusual for me, but I love all the songs on there! I’d love to hear what you guys listen to when working or studying, let me know in the comments!
